മോഹിനിയാട്ടം: കേരളത്തിന്റെ തനതായ ശാസ്ത്രീയ നൃത്തമാണ്. മോഹിനിയാട്ടത്തിന്റെ കൃത്യമായ ചരിത്രം ലഭ്യമല്ല. സ്വാതി തിരുനാള്‍ മഹാരാജാവിന്റെ കാലത്ത് (പത്തൊമ്പതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ ആദ്യ ദേശബ്ദങ്ങളില്‍) മോഹിനിയാട്ടം വളരെ അധികം അഭിവൃദ്ധി പ്രാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സ്വാതിക്ക് മുമ്പ് ഏതു രൂപത്തിലായിരുന്നു ഇത് എന്നതിന് എല്ലാവരും അംഗീകരിക്കുന്ന തെളിവുകള്‍ ഇല്ല. ദേവദാസി നൃത്തം (തെവടിച്ചി നൃത്തം) എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ലാസ്യ നൃത്തമാണ് മോഹിനിയാട്ടം എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. മഹാക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ പ്രസന്ന പൂജക്ക് നടത്തിയിരുന്ന ലാസ്യ നൃത്തമാണ് ഇത് എന്നും ഒരു പക്ഷം. എന്തായാലും സ്വാതി തിരുനാളും, ഇരയിമ്മന്‍ തമ്പിയും, കുഞ്ഞികുട്ടി തന്കചിയും മറ്റും പരിഷ്കരിചു ഊട്ടി വളര്‍ത്തിയ മോഹിനിയാട്ടം കാലങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം വീണ്ടും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ ഉര്‍ജവും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു മറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയ കാലത്ത് കലാമണ്ഡലം വഴി ഒരു പുതു ജീവിതം ലഭിച്ചത് ഈ തലമുറയുടെ ഭാഗ്യം. അപ്പെക്കട്ടു കൃഷ്ണ പണിക്കര്‍ ആശാനും ആശാന്റെ ശിഷ്യകളായ കല്യാണി അമ്മ, ചിന്നമ്മു അമ്മ തുടങ്ങിയവരും വള്ളത്തോള് മയി സഹകരിച്ചു മോഹിനിയാട്ടത്തിന്റെ പുനര്‍ ജനനത്തിനു സംഭാവനകള്‍ നല്‍കി. കാലമാണ്ടാളത്തിലെ ആദ്യ വി...

- Narayanan Mothalakottam So the it's clear now. Kalyani Amma is Orikkeledath Kalyani Amma, Madhavi Amma is Chomayil Madhavi Amma and Chinnammu Amma is Thottasserry Chinnammu Amma. Their disciples are Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma and Kalamandalam Satyabhama as I said earlier.

- Narayanan Mothalakottam എന്റെ പോസ്റ്റില്‍ വന്ന ഒരു പിഴ Ramachandran Keli തിരുത്തുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ "Korattikkara appuredath krishna panikkar aanu. His direct disciple Laxmi Menon was alive during keli's mohiniyattam festival and she presented our Suvarna Kanganam to Kanak Rele in that function. Laxmi Menon expired 2 yrs ago". നന്ദി രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍.

- Dev Pannavoor Some critics say mohiniyattam is too slow and very difficult to watch a whole program of 2 hours...Its not my opinion...:):)

- Dev Pannavoor But i can never imagine a mohiniattam with so much aggressiveness...eventhough the grace can be maintained in a fast movements...I dont know whether anyone has tried to do like that...

- Narayanan Mothalakottam that (the slow tempo) would be a challenge to the artists and also will give chance of real rasa abhinaya in teh dance movements. In my opinion slow and medium tempo only suit mahiniyattam. there are krithis performed in itakalam & drutha kalam also.
